2013 Convention Schedule (Ottawa Comicon Recap)

So Andrea and I caught the worst case on of food poisoning on Friday night at this con hahaha. We both woke up vomiting Saturday morning (waking up James Ghio and his girlfriend whom we were sharing a room with, OOOOOPS <3) and feeling like complete shit, of course, I didn’t want the trip to be completely unsalvageable so I built up the strength to come on to the convention floor anyway. 

What resulted was an interesting game of hide-behind-the-table-and-vomit-into-a-garbage-can-while-no-one-was-looking. I think I ended up saving the day because I managed to make sales while busting out a smile and everything but boy was that tough :|

My good friend Justin Chase and his girlfriend helped out a lot while we were sick though, I think I owe him dinner or a kidney. Haha <3

DUDE. Nothing like watching Cumberbatch shake off Vulcan-Death-Grips like a boss. &lt;3 Seriously though, Star Trek: ITD was great! I mean, there were moments where I felt there was too much prosaic drama &amp; exposition where characters just stood around throwing dialogue at each other&#8230; buttt that might just be because I knew the film was going to be an action-fest and was expecting constant movement; hahaha WATCH THAT SHIZ. Man, Gundam Unicorn has been pretty great. Probably the best gift the folks behind the franchise could’ve given a Universal-Century-fan like myself. 

It’s like literally the only current Anime I’ve made time for & watched in the past 5 years.

They’re not actually that shiny (I assume you’re refering to my table pictures?), those are just display-copies that we laminate so we don’t go through a bunch of prints from tear-down. :B

Finding the right place to print is a gruelling process that everyone goes through differently. Depending on your city/connections finding a good place varies but normally you should be able to do free test-proofs before paying. If you’re running into color issues I suggest changing places!

I don’t think so… I tried rushing the printing asap after I finished Volume 3’s cover but since it’s not done locally it appears the shipping’s going to make it close to impossible to get it that soon :/

I know it sucks! I’ve been promising Volume 3 for awhile and I can’t get it to the two local cons (Otafest & Animethon) where it matters most D:

I follow a very rough script since I end up doing many last minute changes to dialogue. Of course I do plan out a basic beginning, middle & end and always have an idea of where conversations/scenes go or communicate.

As for getting everything to flow… that’s just experience? I don’t really have a formula!
